Comprehensive Plan – 2019Date Posted: Saturday, September 15th, 2018
Magnolia’s 2009 Comprehensive Plan was reviewed and updated during 2018, and the Town Planning Commission produced revised Plan Recommendations, which were shared at an open Town meeting on October 8, 2018.
The draft plan was submitted to the Office of State Planning Coordination (OSPC) on November 1, 2018. A summary of comments by State agencies on that draft was received by the Town on December 30, 2018, and the changes were incorporated into the final version that was submitted to OSPC again in February 2019.
On March 7, 2019, OSPC informed the Town that all certification requirements had been met and the draft had been sent to the Governor’s Office for final approval. Governor Carney sent the Town a letter (viewable in the Comprehensive Plan section) giving his official approval of the plan on March 12, 2019.
This completes the approval process, but the Town will now move forward with the 18 recommendations summarized in the plan. The plan is in effect for 10 years, and at the 5-year mark, we will be required to assemble a review team to determine if the plan is still viable.
